Just wondering...

Have you ever wondered what lengths you would go to for your child? I have at times as I've cleaned up vomit in the middle of the night (it's always the middle of the night) and again as I've sat in 35 degree weather at baseball (see the picture below from yesterday's frigid practice)... yes - I've pretty much determined that I would do just about anything for my children. However, I did come very close to my limit this past Friday night. Caitlin and I went to see the David Archuleta concert Friday night. THIS was Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana/Barney (yes- Austin & I went to a Barney "concert")/"Thomas the Tank Engine"/"Disney on Ice" on steroids. The screaming - oh, the screaming! Have you ever seen those videos where bands are performing at Wembley Stadium and the crowd, with their arms raised to heaven, are jumping in unison? Well, I've now seen that first hand - in West Valley City no less.

He did give a very good concert - I'll give him that (even though I voted for the other David). But, the screaming - I can still hear it ringing in my ears. I must admit to being slightly disturbed by the hoochies in the skimpy tops and "cut down to there" jeans - I wanted to point out to them that Archie is pretty much a fetus. But it was worth it to see the sheer joy on Caitlin's face.
What would a concert be withouth a large mound of sugared ice? We never go ANYWHERE without getting a snowie. I was worried I would have to break out my iPod to cleanse my mental palate so to speak. I only broke out my "Electronic Edward" during the 2nd warm-up act. It's a darn good thing I got that 3rd disc so I could have my digital copy of "Twilight."

How did I miss that???!

Times are tough... So in an effort to save money for the IRS, I have been avoiding my favorite place - Target. It's been very difficult and I've had my moments of weakness (their clothes for girls are just so cute!), but I've really been trying. One more paycheck and Uncle Sam might get paid off in time.

Here's the rub... How did I not know until Christy commented on my blog that there was a 3 DISC DELUXE EDITION of Twilight???!!!!! I spend a considerable amount of time on Twilight-related websites (shocking, I know). How did I miss that?? When I went early Saturday morning to pick up my copy, I debated...should I go to Target or next door to Walmart? They are right next to each other with a Sonic in between (I did get my Route 44 - no deliberating about THAT). Knowing I can't get out of Target under $100, I opted for Walmart. Big mistake.

I am now the proud owner of the 3 disc deluxe edition only available at Target (as well as the 2 disc special edition available everywhere else). That 3rd disc (and Annie agrees with me) was TOTALLY worth it. And not to toot my own horn, but I only bought 1 thing from the girls department on my visit to Target today (I'm making progress).

So much for housework....

No - I didn't go at midnight (although I could have seen "Victoria" at the local Walmart if I would have gone). I waited until 7:30 this morning to go get it. See... I can show restraint. Really, I can. Okay - gotta go watch now!

Party Time

We had a great time at our friend Rylee's birthday party on Saturday (Rylee is Jeff's daughter for those of you who remember Jeff. Silly me - how could any of you forget Jeff?). She's a very grown-up 4 year old.

The kids had a BLAST on this ride - it was a hoot watching Catie try not to squish Rylee and then watching both the girls squishing Austin when the ride was in full gear. Yes - Austin does look a little worse for wear - we picked him up from a slumber party on the way to this party. As an added bonus, Caitlin got to be mother hen (even though she didn't need to be - she just likes to be). She played with Rylee's little brother Andrew in the jungle gym.

Austin was being shy for some reason. He got over it!

Deja Vu all over again...

We had so much fun last week at the University of Utah gymnastics meet that we went again this week. We brought Grandma Kathy along to join in the fun. They had a great meet and defeated #4 Florida State quite handily. I wasn't such a bad mom this week - I actually took a picture of Catie and Grandma (look - no camera face!). They put on quite the show for the last home meet of the season - we all got glow sticks that we waved during the introductions (to go along with the fireworks and lasers).

It was "Senior Night" because it was the last home meet. When they introduced Nina Kim and her family, Nastia Liukin was there because they are best friends (Nina trained at Nastia's dad's gym in Houston). Here is the best picture I could get of her on the jumbotron. It was cool - she was all decked out in Utah gear.

Go Red Rocks!

Caitlin and I had a fun night at the University of Utah gymnastics meet against Arizona State. Utah (2nd in the nation) scored an amazing 197.30. It's so much fun to watch them - they do such amazing routines. As we were leaving, I realized I didn't take a picture of Caitlin while we were there - oops. Bad Mom.

Another Girls Night Out

Okay - I'm trying this again (the last time I did this post, it erased all my others - oops!). Here are some pictures of our dinner at Rainbow Gardens with Marilyn & Michelle. It was great to see them (and Vickie too)!
